Mold is the result of moisture in your environment. Mold is all around us in the outdoor and indoor environment. The problem arises when there is a water intrusion in your home of office and mold grows with water. When you see the growth, you need to take measures to eliminate the problem. - Do you determine the cause or source for the mold problem?
Yes we do. An AIT Technician will identify the source of the problem or the water intrusion. Once we identify the source of the water intrusion, we suggest ways to correct the problem. - Can you kill mold in the wall cavity?
Generally, if mold is in the wall cavity and the cavity is not opened you do not need to worry about the mold since it is encapsulated in the wall. Mold does not penetrate wall board. However, if an owner want the cavity treated, AIT can open a small hole in the wall and treat behind the wall, killing the mold. - Should we ever remove and replace wallboard?
Yes, there are times when you should remove wallboard. If the structural integrity of the wallboard has been compromised, you should replace the wallboard but only in the area where the integrity has been compromised. - How long do I need to be away from my home or office?
When AIT treats the indoor environment, the product will dry within 15 minutes after treatment. You will be able to re-use your facility within 2 hours after the area is dry. - What about the air conditioning and duct work?
The air conditioning must run when our product is applied therefore the air conditioning and duct work benefit from our product. - Should I use bleach to clean the mold in my indoor environment?
Bleach is a biocide and not recommended for use in large area. Bleach can be used to clean hard surfaces but cannot be used on porous surfaces. Bleach does not kill the mold immediately and when applied, the myotoxins are released into the atmosphere.
